Class Description


CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
 
The following classes will resume when possible ~
 
Hip-Hop:                                                                                             
-Pee Wee Hip-Hop (ages 3-5)   
Get ready to have some fun in this high energy, upbeat class.  Pee Wee Hip-Hop dancers will start with a simple fun warm-up, learn basic hip-hop moves, play hip-hop games, and learn simple hip-hop choreography!
                                                 
-Kids Hip-Hop 1 (Ages 6-12)                
Hip-Hop styles will be taught in this jam packed, outrageous, high energy class.  Hip-Hop dancers will start with a fun warm-up, learn hip-hop moves appropriate for a beginning dancer, and learn hip-hop choreography that will have them boppin’ to the beat!
                               
-Kids Hip-Hop 2 (Ages 7-12)       
In this class these Hip-Hop dancers will be learning the trendiest new Hip-Hop moves.  The class will start with a hip-hop warm-up, next the dancers will learn new moves, followed by hip-hop choreography.  The class will have upbeat, fun music that is Jr. appropriate.                   
                                               
-Hip-Hop Int/Adv (Juniors, Teens, Adults)                                                           
This class is a fast paced class and includes fun, hot, styles that will incorporate isolations and rhythmic movement.  Hip-Hop music and new and current choreography will be the reason you'll LOVE this class.  If you’re looking for some fun come check out this class!
                                                               
-Hip-Hop Cardio (Teens and Adults)
This Class is a fast paced, non-stop cardio class.  Using Hip-Hop music, each song will take you to a different hip-hop style.  Get ready to sweat, shake, and get low! This will be fun for everyone!
 
Ballet:                                                                                                  
-Pee Wee Ballet (ages 3-5)
This Pee Wee Ballet class combines ballet fundamentals and creative movement with fairytale music, stories, and basic ballet technique. The introduction to ballet should be fun and welcoming, this class is filled with ballet adventures!  Dress Code: Pink tights, ballet shoes, any color Leotard, (tutu’s optional), hair tied up out of the face. Dancers can get fitted for shoes and order their shoes and tights through the studio the first week of class.
                                                               
-Kids Ballet 1 (ages 6-12)   
This ballet class focuses on basic ballet fundamentals. Balance, hopping, skipping, jumping, galloping (basic locomotor movements), age appropriate stretches, basic positions of the feet and arms, the concept of parallel vs. turned out legs and feet, and ballet class etiquette are part of the curriculum. Students learn ballet terminology, the names of composers of classical ballet music, and the stories of famous ballets. Dress Code: Pink tights, ballet shoes, and black Leotard, (tutu’s optional), hair tied up out of the face. Dancers can get fitted for shoes and order their shoes and tights through the studio the first week of class.
                                                               
-Kids Ballet 2 (ages 7-12)
Ballet for this age group reinforces the basic concepts and then gradually moves the students into the traditional ballet class format of barre followed by center exercises. The process is gradual to ensure that students develop their muscles correctly and do not force turnout. Moving in time with the music becomes more important, as well as memorization of ballet terminology. More complex combinations are given as students progress.  Dress Code:Pink tights, ballet shoes, and black Leotard, hair tied up out of the face. Dancers can get fitted for shoes and order their shoes and tights through the studio the first week of class.
                                                                                               
-Junior & Teen Ballet Int/Adv (ages 10-18)
Ballet helps each student create the firm foundation needed to improve and progress as a dancer. Core body strength, arms (port de bras) and correct turn out based on a student’s anatomy and muscular development are emphasized at the barre. Center work is focused on the basics of adagio (slow controlled combination), preparation for pirouettes, simple turns across the floor, petite allégro and grand allégro. Tights and Ballet shoes can be fitted at the studio and ordered through the studio the first week of class.
 
-Ballet Barre (Ages 7-18 & Adults)
Ballet Barre is a class offered to improve technique, continue learning as a ballet dancer, and to keep your feet, turnout, core, and more in shape!  This class will give you a solid foundation, full body workout, and includes ballet terminology.  Tights and Ballet shoes can be fitted at the studio and ordered through the studio the first week of class.
 
Contemporary:                                                                                
-Kids Contemporary 1 (Ages 6-12)                                           
Contemporary dance is a dance of feeling and expression.  These Kids Contemporary dancers will explore movement while using dance technique.  Contemporary dance class includes improvisation and structural dance. Class will begin with a warm-up followed by choreography.
 
-Contemporary 2 (Ages 7-12)
Contemporary dance is the exploration of the total movement potential of the body. It differs from commercial or competitive dance in that it is not bound by set standards, as well as defined styles such as ballet and jazz. Instead, it seeks to express a personalized vision, often through experimentation and collaboration for the development of new, more individualized approaches to the moving body and choreographic possibilities.
 
-Junior & Teen Contemporary Int/Adv (Ages 10-20)
Contemporary dance is the exploration of the total movement potential of the body. It differs from commercial or competitive dance in that it is not bound by set standards, as well as defined styles such as ballet and jazz. Instead, it seeks to express a personalized vision, often through experimentation and collaboration for the development of new, more individualized approaches to the moving body and choreographic possibilities.
 
Jazz:                                                                                     
-Kids Jazz 1 (ages 6-12)
Learn jazz technique and jazz combinations in this class.  Kids Jazz dancers will start with the basics of jazz; pointing toes, correct form, preparations for turns, kicks, jumps, leaps, and more.  Dance combinations will be upbeat and fun!
 
-Kids Jazz 2 (ages 7-12)
Kids Jazz dancers will start with the basic technique in jazz and then move on to more intermediate styles of technique.  In each class dancers will go through a flexibility warm-up, progressions across the floor, and then learn a jazz combination.
 
-Junior & Teen Jazz Int/Adv (Ages 10-20)
Turns, Leaps, jumps, kicks, and explosive dance moves will fill this Jazz class. Learn upbeat choreography to fun music, after a good warm-up that will focus on flexibility and progressions across the floor at an intermediate/Advanced pace.
 
AcroDance:
-PeeWee AcroDance (ages 3-5)
This class will incorporate games, fun music, and obstacle courses. Children learn basic movement skills such as Balance, Coordination, Rhythm, and Structure.
 
-AcroDance for kids Level 1 (age 6-12)
AcroDance is the performance of extraordinary feats of balance, agility and motor coordination. It can be found in many of the performing arts, as well as many sports.  In this class students will be taught using different elements of gymnastics, dance, technique, partner work, lifts, stunts, flexibility, and more. Many stunts and lifts take students of all heights and ability level.  This class incorporates different ages and levels to create incredible stunts and holds.
 
-AcroDance Level 2 (age 6-18)
AcroDance is the performance of extraordinary feats of balance, agility and motor coordination. It can be found in many of the performing arts, as well as many sports.  In this class students will need to perform a back walkover to be in the level 2 class.  In Level 2 we will work on learning the basic foundations for Aerials, front walkovers, back handsprings, chest stands, and more. Many stunts and lifts take students of all heights and ability level. 
 
-AcroDance Level 3 & 4 & Teens
AcroDance is the performance of extraordinary feats of balance, agility and motor coordination. It can be found in many of the performing arts, as well as many sports.  In this class students will need to perform an Aerial OR Back Handspring to be in the level 3 class.  In Level 3 & 4 we will work on improving  Aerials, front walkovers, back handsprings, and progress into working on tucks, layouts, front aerials and more. Many stunts and lifts take students of all heights and ability level. 
 
-Technique Int/Adv (Juniors, Teens, & Adults)
  The focus of this class will be dance technique, using jazz and ballet styles.  Learn the correct technique for pirouettes, pk turns, calypsos, axles, jete’s, back leaps, switch leaps, and more.
 
Aerial Fabrics/Silks Class
-Aerial Fabrics Beginning (ages 6-teens)
  Learn the basics on the fabrics.... holds, and how to transition in and out of poses, and even go upside down!
 
-Adult Intro to Fabrics Beginning (Adults)
  Learn the basics on the fabrics.... holds, and how to transition in and out of poses, and even go upside down!
 
-Kids Aerial Fabrics Intermediate (ages 6-12)
  Students will learn how to work in the fabrics, including climbing, inversions, tying knots, and learning how to make transitions. 
 
-Junior & Teen & Adult Aerial Fabrics Intermediate 
(ages 10-Adult)
  Students will learn how to work in the fabrics, including climbing, inversions, tying knots, and learning how to make transitions. 
 
 
-Stretch and Strength Class (Juniors, Teens & Adults)
This class is designed to create longer lines, increase flexibility, strengthen the core, and sculpt the body.  Class will begin with a nice long warm-up using stretching techniques that will improve flexibility quickly, then moves on to strengthening, for a full body workout. This class is great for dancers and non-dancers.
 
-Total Body Fitness
This is a fitness class that is a catch all! Full Body workouts with focus on core and glutes. Get ready to dive deep into your core and tighten those muscles! This Class is designed to work your muscles and improve on your current fitness level.
 
-Cardio PULSE
  Are you ready to SWEAT?! This class will get you moving and give you a full body workout. Using many different styles and workout techniques to focus on muscle toning and cardio.
